MICROBLADING
WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading also called eyebrow embroidery is a semi permanent procedure that can create/reshape a very natural looking eyebrow by placing pigment under the skin done by hand with a specific tool. The difference between microblading and traditional permanent makeup / micropigmentation is that there is no machine used, it's done with amicroblading pen by hand which allows you to create very thin hair stroke looking lines. The needles are 3 times thinner than the ones on amachine. In most cases a second session - touch up - is necessary. It all depends on the skin type and healing. The second session is not included in the price. After that it can last around one year in some cases even longer. The pigments I use are 100% vegan, no metals and non animal tested. For more questions regarding prices, appointments etc. please send me a message.

DOES THE APPLICATION HURT?
Some clients find the procedure a little uncomfortable where as other clients report no discomfort at all. A combination of 2 anesthetics are used – a topical numbing cream and then a local anesthetic is introduced once the procedure has started. This is topped up regularly during the treatment to keep you comfortable.
-If you require something stronger, you may ask your doctor for a prescription of 10% lidocain numbing cream (please make sure the consistency is cream-like NOT vaseline-like as the greasiness will alter my markings for your brow shape).
-You may bring 1-2 Extra strength Tylenol to take after our consultation for additional comfort if you have low pain tolerance.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Eyebrows will generally take an 1.5-2 hours to complete.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
All color fades and that is just a fact. Everything fades or degrades with time. They fade over time and should be refreshed every 1-1. 5 years for maintenance. Fading is desired as your skin and facial structure will change as aging occurs. However this does not mean that your semi-permanent makeup will completely disappear. Depending on your skin and health, overtime your semi-permanent makeup may leave a soft haze of residual pigment behind. Permanent Makeup, however, lasts longer than most other beauty/cosmetic procedures while comparably priced. Permanent makeup will last years for some and others will need to refresh their color annually. It is my experience that although some will need to refresh their color annually it will last much longer for most. All permanent makeup fades due to the exfoliation process, this is the process of the epidermis continually shedding and regenerating itself. Permanent makeup will last longer for some and not as long for others due most importantly to lifestyle, health, and skin type.

WHY CAN'T PERMANENT MAKEUP LAST AS LONG AS TATTOOS?
Pigment and ink are different and it is pigment that it is primarily used in permanent cosmetics.

CAN I HAVE MY BROWS MICROBLADED IF I AM PREGNANT OR NURSING?
No, you cannot have cosmetic tattooing done if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

WHAT IS A TOUCH-UP AND WILL I NEED ONE?
A touch-up is an appointment that is needed most of the time to complete the procedure process. The touch-up appointment is a fine tuning session to make any adjustments that may be needed or desired to the shape, fullness, and color and to go over any areas that may not have taken well the first time. Almost always the color implanted is not perfect the first time when healed that is why permanent makeup is almost always a two or more step process. Most will require one touch-up, whereas some will require a second touch-up appointment. Once in a great while I will have a client where everything healed just perfectly and a touch-up is not needed at all, rare, but it does happen. It is my opinion everyone should utilize that touch-up appointment, even if everything appears perfect. A second coat will give your procedure depth and longer life. I love touch-up appointments. This is where I get to look at my work and add the finishing touches to make what already looks great even better.
(Some may need a 3rd session to complete the process. Especially if you have little to no hair to begin with, have scar tissue, oily skin type, or we are trying to cover up an old tattoo.)

WHY ARE MULTIPLE SESSIONS NECESSARY?
Every face is different... Each skin type is different. Some skin types accept the pigment better than other types and more pigment may be retained in one session with one person over another. Also, fine details, additional color, depth or design adjustments are more easily made after the initial healing is complete. A follow-up visit is always considered vital - if only to meet to discuss healed outcome of the procedure, take your after picture, and agree that no further work is necessary. Typically it takes a total of at least 2, possibly 3 applications, 4-8 weeks apart to achieve the desired outcome.

WHY ARE FUTURE TOUCH-UPS NECESSARY?
Because there are always issues that affect the appearance of your procedure. The number 1 culprit is sun exposure! Also, changing health conditions, smoking, medications, anti-aging products, and hormonal changes all can have an effect on your pigment retention. You should keep your follow up visit since it helps prolong your investment.

A general Color Retention guideline is:
Blondes and light taupes shades may need refreshed every 10 to 12 months
Mid-tone browns may need a yearly touch-up
Dark browns and blacks may need a touch-up every 12 to 24 months
*Please note- if a technician tells you only need one visit to complete your procedure and you will not need a touch-up, then he/she is not being truthful. Run!

Note: children under 16 may not be present at the appointment

PERMANENT MAKEUP AFTERCARE:

PREPARING FOR PROCEDURE
-Wax, thread, or tint your eyebrows at least 3 days before.
-Eat a low sodium diet for 3 days before procedure.
-Do not drink alcohol the night before and the day of your appointment.
-Do not drink caffeine or work out the morning of your appointment.
-Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours before.
-No fish oil for 2 weeks prior to the procedure.
-Only the client is allowed in the procedure room.
-Expect that your permanent makeup will appear darker and more intense than expected for the first few days. This will gradually lighten during the healing process.
-Do not wear perfume to your appointments.

Healing Schedule: EYEBROWS
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Day 1-2 : What you see is about 40% darker, bolder and more solid that what your healed result will present. Under the pigment, the skin is red and pigment has been deposited into the layer of skin containing dead skin cells; combined giving the appearance of darker color. There may be minimal swelling but because typically the eyebrow area does not retain much fluid, swelling will be limited. The top layers of skin will begin to shed on about day 3-5, and you will see a loss of color. This is normal, and the pigment that was deposited superficially will come off with the skin it is embedded within. DO NOT HELP IT! Let it peel on its own. To pull the skin off, you will remove ‘plugs’ of dermal pigments as it has not detached itself completely at this point.
Day 3: Eyebrows may begin to itch and the pigment may appear somewhat raised. Don’t scratch them.
Day 7-10: The skin is now in the throes of rapid exfoliation and if left alone, will shed evenly. Disappearing phase – the color under the exfoliating skin will continue to appear light until the epidermis takes on its more transparent characteristics when the white blood cells are done repairing the procedure area.
Day 30-40: Now is the time to critique your brows as you have had a full cycle of cellular regeneration in which the tattoo has now become part of the dermis, seen under the epidermis.
What should I consider when scheduling the Cosmetic Tattoo procedure?
*Botox 3 weeks before or 3 weeks after your procedure.
*Allow 14 days after procedure to go on a vacation (to a sunny location).
*Avoid the sun and tanning bed exposure for 3 weeks before & after your procedure. Tanning while healing will blur and darken the hair strokes.
*You must be off Retin-A & Retinols for 7 days prior to your appointment and
*You may be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle. You may want to avoid scheduling your appointment during that time.
*Avoid working out (heavy sweating) for 10 days after the procedure. Sweat is salty and salt pulls pigment out of the skin and will cause poor pigment retention.
*Avoid pools, hot tubs and saunas for 5 days after the procedure.

A retainer of $100 is required to schedule and secure your appointment, which it is credited toward the total price of your service. This retainer is non refundable if fail to cancel within 48 hours prior. The retainer also ensure to show that you are serious about your appointment.
